Is it necessary for the BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization (TSCO) Gateway Server (formerly, BMC Performance Assurance [BPA/Perform] console) on the managing node to be at the same or higher version than the Perform collectors installed on the remote nodes? What if I am running different agent versions on the remote node?

The official requirement is that the BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization (TSCO) Gateway Server console version must be greater than or equal to the highest version of TSCO Capacity Agent used to collect data being processed by that console. This rule prevents the possibility of experiencing some sort of unexpected or unsupported compatibility issue. Running a console version greater than or equal to the version of Perform that collected the data is the only way the product is tested by the Quality Assurance group at BMC Software. In BPA 7.5.10 and later the user may see the following warning when attempting to process agent data that is newer than BPA console data:
"Thu Mar 28 00:09:42 2013, best1analyze-W-UNSUPPTREL, Analyze release 7.5.10 does not support data collected with release 9.0.00 from xxxxxxx". Where xxxxxxx is the host name.
Q: How does this related to the TSCO Application Server/ETL Engine version? The TSCO Gateway Server VIS parser ETL compatibility with particular TSCO Gateway Server versions is generally documented in the TSCO Product Documentation. For example, for TSCO 11.3.01 there is a 'Supported versions' table that describes the TSCO Gateway Server versions and their level of support by the VIS parser ETL: https://docs.bmc.com/docs/display/btco113/TrueSight+Gateway+Server+ETL+module Related Products:
