ARERR 9201, Session is invalid or timed out, displays when attempting to close a dialog, refresh a table or open a form after a delay in user interaction on the window.

Cause

Session is timing out based on the Session Timeout interval set in the Midtier Config tool

Solution

This knowledge article may contain information that does not apply to version 21.05 or later which runs in a container environment. Please refer to Article Number 000385088 for more information about troubleshooting BMC products in containers.

For every request that comes in, the Mid-Tier checks if the session is still valid. If there is a period of non-activity before an action that reaches the Session Timeout interval, the session expired.

The default Session Timeout of 90 minutes can be adjusted if needed, To increase the session timeout:

Go to the Mid-Tier Config Tool
On General settings check the Session Timeout. The default value is 90 minutes
