Sporadic ARERR 9201 'Session is invalid or timed out' errors happening in a load balanced production system in the middle of actively using the system. The error is not due to simply sitting longer then the configured session timeout in the Mid-Tier. |

How to trouble-shoot Further review of the Fiddler capture showed that initially the HTTP responses were coming back straight from the load balancer, however suddenly the HTTP responses started coming back from a Proxy server that had been configured for any external traffic going out from their site. This was indicated by seeing this HTTP response header in the responses from Mid-Tier URLs: Via: <a proxy server name> The proxy server would have a different IP address being sent to the load balancer causing it to think it could start routing traffic to a different Mid-Tier. In this case the Proxy server had filters built in that would cause the Proxy server to be bypassed for internal internet traffic, but only if the webserver hostname used included one of the customer's internal domain names. End users were using the shortname of the host in their Mid-Tier URLs. Related Products:
