VMware ETLs (history) fails to load system metrics.
No data available from ETL
Access Vmware ETL configuration on CO console
Check resolution set to gather data:
Access VMware ETL configuration tab and press "Advanced" button
In the screen that appears check which resolution is set to gather data (usually 30 minutes)
If you don't know the VMware credentials the ETL uses access full configuration properties with the link on the bottom of the page
Gather user and password from configuration properties (password is visible only in BCO <= 4.0)
Generate chart from VMware VCenter
Access with the Vi or web client client to the vCenter using the same credentials that the ETL uses
Verify the user settings and permissions are correctly set for the Vcenter, and that he is able to see all the machines in the tree view
Select Administration -> vCenter server Settings -> Statistics and check the vcenter is set to gather data at the chosen resolution
On the main screen Select a host or a VM you are trying to gather data from that gives problems
Access "Performance" tab "Advanced" "Chart options..." for the selected system
In "Chart Options" screen
Select a missing metric (i.e: cpu) at resolution:
Last week (for 30 minutes resolution data, that is the most common and correct setting used for VMware ETL)
Last day (for 5 minutes resolution data)
Press OK
Check if the data appears in the chart
If the data does not appear this is a data source problem: it might be a problem of vmware agents collection, or a problem of vcenter DB size, or a problem of data aggregation on DB....
Use VMware KB to verify the reason of this problem: Troubleshooting gaps in performance data or missing performance data in vCenter Server: VMware KB link .
Please provide the above VMware KB link to your Vcenter admin, following these steps he will be able to fix the issue quickly
