Do you have a script available to run on my MS SQL server to re-index the tables? Is there anything that can be run to help improve the performance of the database? |
Attached is a SQL script that can be run against the FootPrints database running on Microsoft (MS) SQL. 1. To run the script, download and extract the script from the zip file. 2. Open a 'New query' in MS SQL and change the database from [master] to the FootPrints database; by default this is [fpscdb001] 3. Execute the query. Please Note: While this script can be run with FootPrints running / Tomcat service started, it may take longer to complete and may not be able to re-index all of the tables. It is recommended that you first Stop the Tomcat service, so the database is not is use prior to running the script. These additional steps are outlined: 1. Stop the Tomcat service. 2. To run the script, download and extract the script from the zip file. 3. Open a 'New query' in MS SQL and change the database from [master] to the FootPrints database; by default this is [fpscdb001] 4. Execute the query. 5. Start the Tomcat service. Additional Information: If you require to re-index all tables then you can change the last line of the script to: -- change database name as required Exec fpdb001_system.p_Reindex_Fragmented_Tables @minimumPercentForRebuild= 0 ,@isOnline=1, @minimumPageSizeToReindex= 1; Please be aware that this process will possible take a long time to finish dependent upon the amount of data in the system and we recommend running this in a maintenance window outside of working hours. |
