What are the steps required for Rehosting Control-M/Enterprise Manager server 9.0.00 ? |
1.In OLD_HOST, stop all Control-M/Enterprise Manager(EM) components and services 2.In OLD_HOST, perform database export “util -U emuser -P empass -export -type all -type history -file {path_to_export_file}” On Unix environments, please use "em" prefix for "util" commands (ex: em util)
3.In OLD_HOST, copy the EMExport.exp file to NEW_HOST4.In NEW_HOST, stop all EM components & EM services 5.In NEW_HOST, perform database import “util -U emuser -P empass -import -type all -type history -file {path_to_export_file} -replace” 6.In NEW_HOST, replacing host name data in database and configuration files “restore_host_config -rehost -old_host OLD_HOST” On Unix environments, please use "em" prefix for "restore_host_config" commands (ex: em restore_host_config)
7.In NEW_HOST, reconfiguring database server connection data in configuration files and database, when the database server connection parameters (host, port etc..) are changed: “restore_host_config -reconf_db -host {new db host name} -port {new db port number} -service {new db service name} -dbname {new db schema name} -owner {new db owner name} -password {dbo password}”The sub-routine providing this service is: "ReconfigureDB()" Usage: {restore_host_config} -reconf_db [-silent] [-host {new db host name}] [-port {new db port number}] [-service {new db service name}] [-dbname {new db schema name}] [-pg_existing_server {y/n}] [-owner {new db owner name}] [[-password {dbo password}] or [-password_file [{file_path}]]] * "-pg_existing_server" should be used for PostgreSQL databases. Value of "y" specifies that the database server cannot be administered by the installation (\"Existing" mode). Value of "n" specifies that the database server can be administered by the installation (\"Dedicated" mode). 8.In NEW_HOST, rename a Control-M/Server host name communication data in Control-M/EM database, when the Control-M/Server host name is changed. The sub-routine providing this service is: "RehostCTM()" Usage: {restore_host_config} -rehost_ctm [-silent] [-old_host {old host name}] [-new_host {new host name}] [[-password {dbo password}] or [-password_file [{file_path}]]] 9.In NEW_HOST, start all EM components & EM services Note:The config.xml is per the environment configuration so we don't bring it from the old environment to the new environment. In case user want to preserve same range of ports in both environments they can configure it also on the new host manually. In addition user can check defaults.rsc file (located under <EM_HOME>\etc\resource) if user made any parameter change however please don't copy it from the old environment to the new one.Do ensure that change only if user are aware of any parameter that was in the past.
