open the https address in any browser that has connectivity to that URL
eg: open an https URL
See the padlock on the left of browser address bar
Click on the padlock
In the menu displayed the certificate is seen as valid
Click on "Certificate"
Then click on "Certification Path"
The certificate is OK
How does it look if the certificate is not Valid?
From starters it would look very different on the browser page itself
Then the padlock location would have some sort of indication stating it is not secure
Click on "Certificate invalid"
Observe the red icons on top
Then moving into Certification Path
In strict sense this certificate is signed by a middle CA then a ROOT CA, however the signatures of the Certificate Authority are not trusted
When checking that item on the Certification Path
The error is clearly visible.
