When MFT Enterprise version is 9.0.21 and EM version is still 20.x, the following issues occur in the MFTE Configuration domain:
  • The “Users” page doesn’t show locked user accounts (since the visibility was added in v21), and the administrator cannot lock/unlock users from the UI
  • When adding/updating an external user password to a password that doesn’t match the new password policies/rules, the error message (“Failed to add external user”) is not clear and doesn’t provide information about the cause for the failure.
The Account Lockout and Password Policies features require Control-M/Enterprise Manager 21 for full functionality & visibility.
It is recommended to upgrade EM to 9.0.21.

If this is not possible, you can toggle off these features to behave as v20, by performing the following steps:
  1. From the MFT Enterprise Configuration site, open the Hub Settings, and expand the “Policies” section.
  2. Toggle off the “Enforce account lockout policy”

  3. Change the “Minimum Password Length” value to 6
  4. Toggle off the 3 password policy rules “Enforce complexity rules”, “Enforce user details rules”, “Enforce history rules”

  1. Click “Save”

The MFT Hub will not lock users and will not enforce the policy rules.
