We can specify mailboxes to use for a particular email engine by setting the mailbox names in the emaildaemon.properties file in the parameter:
com.remedy.arsys.emaildaemon.Mailboxes=
Following is an example of the steps to setup two mailboxes for one AR Server:
1) Install two instances of the Email engine connecting to same AR Server (on host xyz).
Unix installations support multiple instances in different directories on the same machine.
2) Create 2 incoming POP3 and 2 outgoing SMTP mailboxes on arserver (xyz).
3) Add the following lines in emaildaemon.properties file to the email instance 1:
com.bmc.arsys.emaildaemon.Mailboxes= AREmail-In1,AREmail-Out1
4) Add the following lines in the emaildaemon.properties file to email instance 2:
com.bmc.arsys.emaildaemon.Mailboxes= AREmail-In2,AREmail-Out2
5) Re-start both Email Engine instances.
Note:
Make sure that all associated mailboxes are listed in EmailDaemon.properties file for each email engine instance or the entry does not have a value in a single Email Engine environment, such as:
com.bmc.arsys.emaildaemon.Mailboxes=OutoingMailbox1, IncomingMailbox1
When this entry is defined with a specific mailbox or mailboxes, any mailbox not in the list will not be loaded by the Email Engine.
If the parameter is defined with an empty list the Email Engine will load all mailboxes.
