Please refer to Article Number 000385088 for more information about troubleshooting BMC products in containers. Login IDs being case sensitive is working as designed. Currently, there are no plans to implement a change to the login process to disable case sensitivity. Users who log in with an invalid login name (e.g. due to a case sensitivity issue) will see a warning message that they are logging in as a guest user (if guest access is configured). This may help identify when the situation has occurred. There are customizations that could be accomplished to force uppercase as a workaround.
[For Remedy Midtier 8.x and earlier ] <input type="text" NAME="username" id="username-id" maxlength="30" value="<%=name%>" If you want to lower case it use "toLowerCase" instead of "toUpperCase". [For Remedy Midtier 9.x and later]
Edit the login.jsp and add the onChange action to below lines of code . <input name="<%=Params.USERNAME%>" maxlength="<%=Params.USERNAME_LENGTH%>" id="username-id" value="<%=com.remedy.arsys.share.HTMLWriter.escape(name)%>" class="loginfield" size="30" type="text" onChange="javascript:this.value =this.value.toUpperCase();"> NOTE: This is not a supported configuration and should be used at your own risk. If a hotfix or patch is applied, you may need to reapply the customizaton.
