How do I configure SmartIT/MyIT datastore to point to the load balancer of my AR Server Group? |
This knowledge article may contain information that does not apply to version 21.05 or later which runs in a container environment. Please refer to Article Number 000385088 for more information about troubleshooting BMC products in containers. There are three steps that need to be taken in order to fully configure MyIT datastore to point to the load balancer of your AR Server Group. 1) Update Persistent Data Store in Mid-Tier MyIT Admin console to point to the AR LB (see KA/Article #000097555 for instructions) 2) Update provider_settings table in DB directly or MyIT Administration console. To do this via MyIT Admin console: Login to the MyIT Administration Client -> Configuration -> under the Providers table, click to open each Provider that is pointing to the Hostname of your AR server, and update it to the Hostname and Port of your AR Load balancer (for providers that are not using AR server, you can leave those as is) -> Click Update Settings to apply the changes. Once all the Providers are updated, click on the Reload Providers button to reload the providers. 3) Update connect.properties file in <<install_dir>>\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat7.0\external-conf\ by updating the following entries to point to the AR Load balancer: connect.arsystem.hostName = vw-aus-cus-sp5e connect.arsystem.port = 0 connect.arsystem.password = lDvqXjInGn11bT%2BGKGyvBQ%3D%3D 4) Restart MyIT/SmartIT server |
