I just receive a patch to resolve a known issue. How do I upload it to my server and install it? |
Applying a patch on a Windows Server: 1) Save the patch file (Compressed) to the FootPrints "base" install folder on the server (i.e. C:\FootPrintsServiceCore or the actual install location of FootPrints if installed elsewhere). DO NOT UNZIP THE FILE! NOTE: If the patch file is named with a date time stamp such as patch_tofixproblemxyz_R1.pm_yyyymmddhhmmss.zip, rename the file to remove the "_yyyymmddhhmmss" portion of the filename. All patch files must have a name beginning with "patch_" and ending with ".pm.zip" before they can be applied. 2) Open a command prompt by clicking the Windows Start button and type command prompt or cmd in the Start Search box. 3) Right-click command prompt or cmd when it appears in the Programs List and choose Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click Continue. 4) cd to the C:\FootPrintsServiceCore\cgi folder 5) Run the mrpatch.bat batch file script by simply typing: mrpatch (then press Enter) 6) Follow the prompts to select the patch file and apply it.
