Summary

Events from ISN cell are reaching pncell on TSIM via TCP port 1828. But when I registered the ISN cell to pncell using iadmin, it does show up in the Infrastructure Management Console. But no events in ISN cell are displayed. This ISN cell is sitting on customer environment and is on the other side of the firewall. Does this port 1828 need to be bi-directional?

BMC documentation does not specify the traffic and direction between ISN and pncell. Does this port 1828 need to be allowed in bi-directional?

Answer

By default the cell port is 1828 and yes, it needs to be bi-directional. Unless you have a different port number of either side the it will be whatever those port numbers are. The traffic on this port needs to be bi-directional.
