Is there a limit to the duration of a threshold violation - 180 min (3h) in TrueSight Presentation Server(TSPS)?

Is there a way to change the duration value?

Answer

It is not possible to make a threshold duration longer than 180 minutes. BMC do not encourage using a longer duration, the intent of the product is to alert you to issues which need attention and changing the duration delays the attention to the issue at hand.

So it is recommended that you review your processes and understand why user want to change the duration of the threshold, perhaps there is something in the process which needs changing? Also the recommendation is to not rely on absolute thresholds, but perhaps use signature thresholds.

The setting will not be made to be configurable at this point as that is the way it was designed, so if user have additional questions or concerns BMC would recommend reviewing the signature thresholds as an alternative.
