Events are propagated between TrueSight Infrastructure Management cells but the event flow is very low and the connection is closed due to firewall configuration rules. New events may not be propagated immediately and a cell restart may be required for propagation to work again. Apart from having regular event flow, how can the connection be kept open for events to flow? |
The following mcell.conf parameters introduced with 11.3.03 allow a TCP keepalive packet to be sent which will maintain the connection: TCPKeepAlive - value can be "True/False" , "Yes/No" or "On/Off" all are valid values. Yes/True/On means that keepalive is to be enabled. Default value is No. TCPKeepIdle - value is the time in seconds that the connection needs to remain idle before TCP starts sending keepalive. Default value is 7200 (2 hours). For example, if the firewall configuration is to close the connection after 10 minutes idle time, then setting the following in the cell specific mcell.conf file and restarting the cell will keep the connection open: TCPKeepAlive=Yes TCPKeepIdle=480 *note the value for TCPKeepIdle should be less that the idle time in the firewall configuration. A cell restart is needed for any changes made to the mcell.conf file. |
