We see that our email alerts from self-monitoring are reporting From an invalid From ID.
For example, when we encounter a disk full issue on our BPPM server, we receive an email that should be from firstname.lastname@example.org but we receive an email alert from email@example.com
What could cause the From ID to be incorrect?
This issue can be reproduced when the details used in the from_name file in the BPPMInstallationDirectory\pw\etc\hosts\from_name are used.
The issue is caused by the lack of a new line character at the end of the from_name entry
So to correct the issue, open the from_name file and re-enter the from name and hit Enter at the end of the from name entry so the cursor moves to the next file.
Then restart the BPPM services and that will resolve the issue.
This is considered a defect and defect # DRDR1-6 has been submitted
