We have published few service models in TrueSight Infrastructure Management server from CMDB but some service models do not appear under Services view in TSIM Operation console and TrueSight Presentation console under Monitoring -> Services. Service models which do not appear in TrueSight consoles have top level CI of classes other than BMC_BusinessService class. Is there any way to view such service models in TrueSight IM Operations and Presentation consoles? |
By default, TrueSight IM Operation console and Presentation consoles display only those service models which have top level CI as Business Service but service models with top level CI other than Business Service can still be viewed with custom configuration. In order to view Service Models with top level CI other than Business Service, you can follow below procedure. For TrueSight Presentation Console: You can configure a CI type as a Service as explained in documentation at below link. https://docs.bmc.com/docs/TSInfrastructure/110/configuring-a-ci-type-as-a-service-on-the-truesight-console-724768841.html When you select a specific CI Type as a service, the relevant CIs of that CI Type are listed as Services on the Services page of Presentation console. Note: In TrueSight Operations Management versions earlier than 11.0, only the Business Service CI Type is configured as a service by default. You cannot configure other CI Types as services in Presentation Console. For TrueSight IM Operation Console: It is not possible to view Service Models with top level CI other than Business Service in Services section of TrueSight IM Operation Console but such service models can be viewed by creating component folder under Main drawer of operation console. Follow below steps to create component folder to add Service Models with top level CIs other than Business Service. 1. Go to tools menu in Main drawer under Navigation pane. 2. Create Component folder and enter folder name for e.g. "My Custom Services". 3. Select folder type as "Static List of Objects" 4. Select Object type as "CIs from Service Model" 5. Select class of Top Level CI in Service Model from drop down menu. For e.g. Application and click on Find. 6. From results, select CIs which you want to view in component folder. 7. Click OK to save the folder. Once component folder is created and CIs are added, it would look like below. For more information on creating component folders in TrueSight Operations console, refer documentation at below link. https://docs.bmc.com/docs/display/TSIM113/Creating+component+folders+in+the+operator+console |
