Yellow icon & message is seen:
Child Server version is lower than Central Monitoring Administration version, please upgrade the child server.
First, determine whether the error is true. On the BPPM server which is associated with this error, run:
Is that version lower than that of the CMA BPPM server?
If the versions are the same (so the error message itself is in error):
- Have you tried restarting the CMA and child BPPM servers?
- If so, then run the following on the CMA BPPM server:
runjava scripts.runsqli "select * from server_details"
Sample output, which will be referenced below:
SERVERID SERVERDNSNAME SERVERDETAILS SERVEROS SERVERBPPMVERSION JNDIPORT SERVERPROTOCOL SERVERPORT SERVERIP
21 BPPMChildP01 admin Windows Server 2008 R2 9.0.00 build 231178031 5935 HTTP 80 188.8.131.52
Let's assume that the BPPM Child server should be version 9.6, but it is incorrectly shown as version 9.0 in the server_details table.
In that case:
Stop the CMA:
pw sys stop
If using the Sybase DB, start only the DB:
pw p s dbsrv
If using the Oracle DB, nothing special is needed, since it is already running.
Backup the table:
runjava scripts.runsqli "create table server_details_bkup as (select * from server_details)"
Update the version:
runjava scripts.runsqli "update server_details set SERVERBPPMVERSION='9.6 build 261331948' where SERVERID=21"
(Be sure to select the correct values for SERVERBPPMVERSION and SERVERID. The SERVERID entry will be referenced in your "select * from server_details" output that you generated earlier.)
Start the CMA:
pw sys start
