Attached is a zip which contains a utility to test the port connectivity between two servers. For example, if you see component connection errors related to ports on TrueSight Presentation Server, this tool can be used to test port connection while troubleshooting the issue.

*Note that both TSPS and TSIM version 11.3.02 introduced a new CLI which can be used instead of the attached utility. It is 'tssh component portcheck' for TSPS and 'pw system portcheck' for TSIM. Details are on:

If using pre-11.3.02 version, please use the attached file.

1. Extract the zip to a temporary location.

2. On Linux, chmod 755 TestConnectivity.sh

3. If you are extracting it on any server other than TSPS or TSIM, make sure java JRE/JDK is installed on it. You can confirm it by executing following command on command prompt.

java -version

5. Usage of the tool is:

TestConnectivity  HostName PortNumber <TimeoutMilliseconds optional default 5000 milli-seconds>

6. Depending on the connection status, you will get appropriate response:

a. Request timed-out -
