This knowledge article may contain information that does not apply to version 21.05 or later which runs in a container environment. Please refer to Article Number 000385088 for more information about troubleshooting BMC products in containers. As observed in the debug output and since the utility is reading data in a field, most likely some field on the last form referenced, has a diary field with a lot of data. The way to proceed is by increasing the memory by editing the arsrename file using the -Xmx parameter for which the default is 1024m. Windows Locate the arsrename.bat in the AR System install dir\ARSystem\artools folder: Example out of the box batch file: ........................ @echo off set AR_INSTALL_DIR=../ :: Set AR Home first. set AR_HOME=C:/Program Files/BMC Software/ARSystem/ :: Set AR Api's path. set AR_API_LIB=%AR_HOME%/Arserver/api/lib :: Set ARTools home. set ARTOOLS_HOME=%AR_HOME%/artools set path=%ARTOOLS_HOME%;%path% set VERSION=91_build002 if "%JAVA_HOME%" == "" GOTO NO_JAVA "%JAVA_HOME%\bin\java" -Xmx1024m -classpath "%ARTOOLS_HOME%;%ARTOOLS_HOME%/etc/arsrename;%ARTOOLS_HOME%/lib/artools%VERSION%.jar;%AR_API_LIB%/arapi%VERSION%.jar;%AR_API_LIB%/arapiext%VERSION%.jar; %AR_API_LIB%/log4j-1.2.14.jar;%AR_API_LIB%/arutil%VERSION%.jar;" com.bmc.arsys.artools.dbscan.DBScanner %* GOTO END :NO_JAVA @echo JAVA_HOME env variable is not defined. :END ........................ Increase the heap setting to: -Xmx4096m Save the file and launch the utility again. Linux Locate the arsrename.sh in the /opt/bmc/ARSystem/artools folder. Edit the file. Example: ............ #!/bin/sh # Set AR Installation directory AR_INSTALL_DIR=../ # Set AR Home first AR_HOME=/opt/bmc/ARSystem # Set ARTool home. ARTOOLS_HOME=$AR_HOME/artools # Set location for AR Api's AR_API_LIB=$AR_HOME/api/lib LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$ARTOOLS_HOME:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH VERSION=91_build005 if [ -z $JAVA_HOME ] then echo "JAVA_HOME not defined" && exit 1 fi $JAVA_HOME/bin/java -Xmx1024m -classpath $ARTOOLS_HOME:$ARTOOLS_HOME/etc/arsrename:$ARTOOLS_HOME/lib/artools$VERSION.jar:$AR_API_LIB/arapi$VERSION.jar:$AR_API_LIB/arapiext$VERSION.jar:$AR_API_LIB/log4j-1.2.14.jar:$AR_API_LIB/arutil$VERSION.jar com.bmc.arsys.artools.dbscan.DBScanner "$@" ............ Increase the heap setting to: -Xmx4096m Save the file and launch the utility again. Note, if you are using an exclusion file make sure the correct file is appended in the command using the correct path. |
