When trying to startup Control-M/Agent under root account, the following error is reported:
 *** CONTROLM environment variable is not defined . ***

The error received is due to the incorrect procedure used to startup the Control-M/Agent, follow the instructions below to start it correctly.

1. Login as the root user
2. Navigate to the scripts directory in the Control-M/Agent installation path.
3. Execute the start-ag command as root.  For example:   ./start-ag
4. When the script prompts:
Enter Control-M/Agent UNIX username [userid]:
(Do not specify root, instead specify the Unix Control-M/Agent owner account).  Normally this is defaulted based on the fact that you have navigated already to the Agent's "scripts" directory.
Enter Control-M/Agent Process Name <AG|AT|AR|ALL> [ALL]:
Press Enter again to start ALL the Agent's processes.

It must start the Agent correctly with root privileges but using the Control-M/Agent userid environment variables.
