Legacy ID:KA390017
Cause: On Windows systems with problematic Direct3D drivers, the use of Direct3D can cause the BSA Server Automation Console to hang/freeze.
Solution:
- Go to C:\Program Files\BMC Software\BladeLogic\CM\rcp
- Make backup copy of launcher.ini
- Add the following line (“-Dsun.java2d.d3d=false”) after "-Dblx.cmlibdir=C:\Program Files\BMC Software\BladeLogic\CM/rcp/plugins/com.bladelogic.client.jars_1.0.0/lib" and before "-Xms512m", this new line turns off the use of Direct3D.
- Launch UI and test
- If behavior persists add the following line “-Dsun.java2d.noddraw=true”
- Launch UI and test
- If you are still experiencing this, please add "-Dsun.java2d.ddoffscreen=false"
- Launch UI and test
Example of modified file with new entries highlighted in yellow:
-Dblx.cmlibdir=C:\Program Files\BMC Software\BladeLogic\CM/rcp/plugins/com.bladelogic.client.jars_1.0.0/lib
-Dsun.java2d.d3d=false
-Dsun.java2d.noddraw=true
-Dsun.java2d.ddoffscreen=false
-Xms512m
-Xmx768m
