Running ARS installation and after providing the database information the following error appears: ...................
Error occurred creating InstallationPanelDelegate
...................
1- The scenario is seen when a pre-created database and user have been created. - If there is a pre-created DB, it needs to be empty as per documentation https://docs.bmc.com/docs/display/brid91/Configuring+the+Microsoft+SQL+Server 2- Check to make sure ARAdmin user have the correct permissions and role assigned. # Run the below query for Oracle DB to check ARAdmin assigned permissions: select grantee, privilege from dba_sys_privs where grantee = 'ARADMINROLE' order by grantee; # Check below for SQL DB to check ARAdmin assigned permissions: Select the SQL Server DB Table, e.g. ARSystem > Security > Double Click User ARAdmin > Here it will show if ARAdmin is set as dbo or not. Under Roles > db_owner > it shows if ARAdmin set as dbo or not. 3- Verify if the default AR#Admin# password for ARAdmin user is being used or a complicated password with special characters. Use standard password for ARAdmin to avoid any such issues and its password can be changed after AR Server installation in: Database Tab under AR System Admin Console > Server Information page. Additional Information If there is a plan to upgrade ARS from v.7.6.04 to the latest version (DB only upgrade) the same error may display and the installation log will display: .......................

The error simply indicates the upgrade path is incorrect or Db only upgrade is not compatible.
If there is a plan to setup a v.7.6.04 staging environment the path is to clone ARS as well as the database server and run the latest installer to upgrade both ARS and the database.
OR
- Restore the v.7.6.04 database into new server.
- Run the v.7.6.04 installer pointing to the restored Database.
- Once it is done successfully, upgrade ARS to the latest version.
Please refer the below doc for upgrade path.
