This is a known issue with Patrol agent 10.7 and has been fixed in in 11.3.01 version of Patrol Agent. The messages "Configuration Error: Received decrypted password! It was encrypted upon receipt!" have no harm. Sometimes those messages are printed because the encrypted password from KM comes as DES and its decrypted and re-encrypted in AES. But the messages have been made proper from 11.3.01 version of PATROL Agent. Those messages can be safely ignored as of now if upgrade to 11.3.01 is not possible. That is one of the reasons for this message. It usually happens if password used has not been encrypted using pwd_encrypt.exe utility found under PATROL Agent %PATROL_HOME%\bin directory. it’s recommended to use pwd_encrypt.exe utility installed with the PATROL Agent not the one found in older environment. The reason for this is because the PATROL Agent security encryption has been changed from AES to DES encryption from 10.0 version onward. The other tools do not encrypt the password in DES encryption except pwd_encrypt.exe. The pwd_encrypt.exe utility works on the older versions as well. It is recommended to use the pwd_encrypt.exe in the older PATROL Agent environment to encrypt the password for older PATROL Agent versions and update it. Similarly, use the pwd_encrypt.exe found in the new environment to encrypt it. pwd_encrypt.exe has been updated to use DES encryption from PATROL Agent 10.0 version. For older PATROL Agent versions, it uses AES encryption. |
