TSPS v11 uses a different version of ElasticSearch than 10.x and therefore the data needs to be migrated to the new version. This is done using the dataUpgrade.bat/dataUpgrade.sh files. However, when running these files nothing seems to happen. The dataupgrade.log created when running the file contains the following messages: 2017-12-19 15:13:14 INFO file:65 - Starting Elasticsearch Elasticsearch 5.2.2 2017-12-19 15:13:15 INFO file:86 - Elasticsearch started Elasticsearch 5.2.2 2017-12-19 15:13:46 ERROR file:1000 - Unable to start Elasticsearch 5.2.2 2017-12-19 15:13:46 ERROR file:65 - Failed to initialize the data upgrade process!com.bmc.truesight.Exception.ReindexException: Unable to start Elasticsearch 5.2.2 2017-12-19 15:13:49 INFO file:385 - Current state for service : Index Server Running (4644) 2017-12-19 15:13:49 INFO file:519 - Data upgrade failed! |
Either add more physical memory such that >2Gb is free, or stop some non-TrueSight related process from running as TrueSight needs to be started for this process to work properly. Once there is >2Gb memory free, run the dataUpgrade file again. If successful, the log should end like the following: 2017-12-19 15:25:28 INFO file:360 - Data upgrade finished. 2017-12-19 15:25:28 INFO file:519 - Data upgrade completed successfully. |
