The TrueSight Export Tool helps in exporting the data from BMC ProactiveNet Server (BPPM)/TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server (TSIM). Version 1.1 supports to export Instance Thresholds configured for all PATROL Instances. When you run the tool, it gets data of Instance Thresholds from the TSIM database using sql queries, process it and writes the information to a csv file. Users can download the Export Tool from the FTP site ftp://ftp.bmc.com/pub/TSOM/Export/ or directly from this Knowledge Article. NOTE: This tool is a living tool and may be updated at will, so BMC recommends checking the FTP link above or this Knowledge Article for the latest version to be used. Installing the tool ============================== 1) Download the latest zip file from location ftp://ftp.bmc.com/pub/TSOM/Export/ and land it in the BPPM_SERVER_HOME directory Windows: <disk>:\Program Files\BMC Software\ProactiveNet\ Unix: /opt/bmc/ProactiveNet/ 2) As the same user that installed BPPM/TSIM, extract the file into %BPPM_SERVER_HOME% Steps to execute the tool ============================== 1) As the user who installed BPPM/TSIM, go to the following folder using a command prompt: %BPPM_SERVER_HOME%/utility/TrueSightExportTool
2) Run the one of the following:

Unix: TrueSightExportTool.sh thresholds instance debug 3) Once the script has executed, it will save instance thresholds of all PATROL Instances to csv file under utility/TrueSightExportTool. The csv file will be created with below naming format:
<TSIM_HOST_NAME>_AllInstanceThresholdSettings_<yyyy>_<mm>_<dd>_<HH_IN24_HR>_<MM>_<SS> 4) It will create log file "tsom-export-tool.log" under utility/TrueSightExportTool/logs 5) For assistance importing the instance thresholds to Monitoring Policies, please contact Solution Engineering Architect Leaders (SEAL) Team (Michael Ashall at Michael_Ashall@bmc.com) Steps of uninstallation ============================== Delete the folder %BPPM_SERVER_HOME%/utility/TrueSightExportTool ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ If you have any questions about usage of tool, contact BMC Customer Support and provide zip of the TrueSightExportTool/logs directory and TrueSightExportTool/<generated csv file>. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
