After upgrading TrueSight Presentation Server (TSPS), the Database Server fails to start. The most recent postgres-<timestamp>.log under TrueSightPServer\truesightpserver\logs\pg_logs directory contains: LOG: Invalid magic number 0000 in log segment 000000010000000000000001, offset 0 LOG: Invalid primary checkpoint record LOG: Invalid magic number 0000 in log segment 000000010000000000000001, offset 0 LOG: Invalid secondary checkpoint record PANIC: could not find a valid checkpoint record |

Run the following commands: Windows : cd %TRUESIGHTPSERVER_HOME%\truesightpserver\modules\pgsql\bin pg_resetxlog.exe "%TRUESIGHTPSERVER_HOME%\truesightpserver\data\pgsql" For 11.3.07 cd %TRUESIGHTPSERVER_HOME%\truesightpserver\modules\pgsql\bin pg_resetwal.exe "%TRUESIGHTPSERVER_HOME%\truesightpserver\data\pgsql" Linux : cd /opt/bmc/TrueSightPServer/truesightpserver/modules/pgsql/bin ./pg_resetxlog "/opt/bmc/TrueSightPServer/truesightpserver/data/pgsql" For 11.3.07 cd /opt/bmc/TrueSightPServer/truesightpserver/modules/pgsql/bin ./pg_resetwal.exe "/opt/bmc/TrueSightPServer/truesightpserver/data/pgsql" If shows error below, stop TrueSight Presentation Server first pg_resetxlog: lock file "postmaster.pid" exists Is a server running? If not, delete the lock file and try again. 2. Start the database process by running the following command: tssh process start database 3. Once the database has restarted, restart the TrueSight Presentation Server. |
