**Before 18.05 | 1.x, 2.x**
Login onto Remedy with a MyIT/SmartIT Admin user.

             Step1 : Application -> BMC MyIT administration -> MyIT administration console -> Persistent Data Stores -> click on the AR server that is currently being used.

             Step2 :  Modify the host_name , Provide Port Number , Admin Password(provide remedy application service password) , DataStore type(Select AR Server)

                         Click on the application tab and do the same for rest of the three applications - BMC MyIT / MyIT-ITSM /MyIT HRCM and save the information. Make sure 'enabled' is set to Yes

**Post 18.05 This change should be done in the SMT:Administration Console form**




Login with the SmartIT Database.

NOTE:
These steps apply for
    Any SmartIT -any version from 18.05 (stand alone SmartIT)  and beyond.
    Any SmartIT that is bundled with MyIT and prior.
    For DWP 18.05 and beyond, follow KA 000169175

Step1 : go to the Table - 'Configuration Parameter' with the Schema 'SmartIT_System'
Run the following query:
SELECT * FROM [SmartIT].[SmartIT_System].[CONFIGURATION_PARAMETER]

Step2 : Execute the Update query to update HostName:
UPDATE [SmartIT].[SmartIT_System].[CONFIGURATION_PARAMETER] SET Value = 'Server_Name' Where Name='connect.arsystem.hostName'

Step3 : If the password has changed then password has to be encrypted:
                           > For Smart IT versions 18.0x and 19.0x use the Smart IT Maintenance Tool to encrypt the password:
./Smart_IT/SmartITMaintTool/SmartITMaintenanceTool

  > For Smart IT 20.02 and higher, use the new Password Encryption utility to encrypt the password:
../Smart_IT/SmartITCustomizationUtil/password-encryption-<version>-BUILD-SNAPSHOT

Execute the Update query to update password information:
UPDATE [SmartIT].[SmartIT_System].[CONFIGURATION_PARAMETER] SET Value = 'encrypted password' Where Name='connect.arsystem.password'
 
Step4 : Execute the Update query to update Port information
UPDATE [SmartIT].[SmartIT_System].[CONFIGURATION_PARAMETER] SET Value = '0' Where Name='connect.arsystem.port'
  

Step5 : Restart Application's Tomcat
  
Also, correct server references in Program Files\BMC Software\Smart_IT\MyITInstalledConfiguration.xml file. It is used while installation/upgrade. Otherwise upgrade will replace the above changes as per server configuration from MyITInstalledConfiguration.xml file.

Change SmartIT DB reference:
**  This is a separate account/password than the above and is maintained on the DB  **

Follow the below steps to Change Smart IT DB Reference:

• Login to the Server where Smart IT Tomcat is installed.
• Go to the Apache Tomcat Folder
• Go to the location <Tomcat Installed Location>\conf\Catalina\localhost
• Make a backup of the ux.xml (Smart IT 2.0 and below) or smartit.xml ( Smart IT 18.05 and above) and open the same.
• Look for the Line URL="jdbc:sqlserver: 

The following example is from a system connecting to MS SQL Server database: url=jdbc:jtds:sqlserver://mydbserver-011:1433/SmartIT

Also, correct DB reference in Program Files\BMC Software\Smart_IT\MyITInstalledConfiguration.xml file. It is used while installation/upgrade.       

Restart the Smart IT  Services
