How do I check the Database name and the SQL Server/Instance name for a Track-It! 20.xx installation?
Currently, these details are not visible through the GUI.
We can check this data either by looking into the ODBC section created on the Track-It! Application Server or by looking into a registry value.

1. Using ODBC Data Source Administrator:
  • On the Track-It! Server launch ODBC Data Sources (32-bit).

  • Change the current tab to System DSN.

  • Double click on Track-It.

  • The SQL Sever name along with the Instance defined under "Which SQL Server do you want to connect to?" is the SQL Server/Instance where the database is installed.

  • click Next, then using "With Active Directory Integrated Authentication" or SA Authentication.

  • click Next once more. The "Change the default database to:" should give you the Database name. Make sure to not save any of these changes and to hit cancel.

2. Using the Registry the installation creates:
  1. ​​On the Track-It! Application Server go to Run, type regedit and hit enter.
  2. Navigate to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\BMC Software\BMC Track-It!\Product Info.
  3. Data column's value with Name as Server will give you the SQL Server/Instance and Name as Database will give you the Database Name.
  4. Make sure to not make any changes out here.
